Origin Story
Legend states that after Lord Parashuram killed his own mother Renuka on his father's command, he was overcome with the grave sin of matricide. Wandering in search of redemption, he arrived at this very spot in Ujjain and performed intense penance beneath an ancient banyan tree, praying for liberation from his sin. Pleased by his penance, the tree itself is believed to have granted him Siddhi (spiritual accomplishment), and it came to be known as Siddhavat. Since Parashuram found relief from even the gravest of sins here, the site is considered exceptionally powerful for pacifying ancestral doshas and troubled souls of any kind.
